Cooking Gadgets

I am always looking for ways to make my personal chef cook days go a little faster and a little easier.  I am going to tell you about my two new favorite gadgets that won't break the bank and you are recycling something you already have that you would otherwise throw away.

My first item I found after several attempts to find a dicing/mincing gadget. Something strong enough to dice or slice a potato or a sweet potato.
Drum roll.....

Easy Dicer Food Processor Manual 5 parts

I have to admit the first time I used this dicer, I was being a little gentle and was thinking that it was just like every other product I bought and returned that didn't meet my expectations. However, after my hands would cramp from all the dicing I was doing on a cook date, I pulled this little gadget out and had an AHA moment...  Duh! April! It's manual!. You have to use a little muscle power, It took me a few times to get it down to a science, but once I got used to my new kitchen best friend. Easy peasy! I like this product because after almost severing a few fingertips using a mandolin I needed something blonde proof. I found this neat little gadget at a trendy kitchen store at a outlet mall. Since I have fell in love with this product I have seen it on several clearance racks at like Walmart or Walgreens. I am not sure why. I think people just don't know how to use it correctly. I think of it as a stress reliever when I am slicing and dicing.

My next new gadget that I have found is not only a recycled item, but truly like a magic trick that entertains both adults and children when you share it with them. I watched a utube video of this homemade gadget and flashbacks of hacked up deviled eggs that I took to parties haunted me. Well after this product, NEVER AGAIN! Using this recycled-homemade gadget you will never be embarrassed about ugly deviled eggs again, unless you cook them too hot for too long then you will have a green tint too your eggs.  I will post in the future about how to keep the yolks from having that green tint in another video. ANYWAY. Are you ready for this recycled-you already have gadget? Another drum roll please....

THE AMAZING CLEAN EMPTY JAR

I know what your thinking! Don't knock it until you try it. Again, it requires muscle power.  Another stress reliever gadget. Who knew cooking was stressful. It's not. It's fun. So basically you take like a small olive jar or I used an empty minced garlic jar. Clean it out. Boil your eggs (does not matter if they are fresh or a few days old...I have tried both). When your eggs are cool, fill the jar half full with water.  Place the egg in the jar, put the lid back on and shake, shake, shake it up (I had to say "up" because I don't want Taylor Swift to come back and sue me because copyright laws for using her song lyrics...but I was singing that song as I was shaking)! Then you take the lid off, empty the water and PRESTO, the shell just basically falls off the egg in your hand. Don't believe me? I dare you to try it!

I hope you try these gadgets because they certainly have been a blessing to my cooking enjoyment. I hope you continue to read my posts and send me feedback from your cooking experiences.
